It takes my breath away

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

Weathered wave

Weathered wave slides along the shore, searching for more. Yet try as it may, it will soon be washed away only having enough time to say, “Hush, hush”. Never ceasing rush of tide, saying “hello” and then “goodbye”, holding fast to try, yet only going thus far  to die. Sometimes whispering as it hides, singing in soft lullabies, laughing as it glides - it tries, it tries. In a second all can change, roaring and screaming in rage, beating at its never ending cage while pounding on the earth as if to crush; yet its raging voice can only come to say, “Hush, hush.” Who commands the sea and bay?  Who tells them they must stay and in their confinement they must obey, listening to the words He says. In his name He cries out day to day, “Hush, hush!”

Hands clenched and broken eyes raised, holding fast to Your gaze as You speak to me a never failing phrase, “Hush, hush”. Shattered dreams I clasp too tight, trying to stand brave in this fight yet never letting go of  You even in the darkest of these daunting nights - waiting, watching for You, my beacon of everlasting light. Memories sift through shaking hands, just like the grains of a hundred well-worn sands… please, I beseech Thee, “What are Your plans?” I'm searching just like the wave, yet I am not imprisoned; still I feel trapped just trying hard to do more than adapt.  And with my bare sore heart cracked: reality is about to be snapped. Every day I find more that I lack, but You sing to me softly, a song that is like water to my chapped lips, which sooths my parched throat and is a refreshment to my bones. “Hush, hush”. I reminisce with my mind, and You break through just in time; You come through my troubled thoughts with one word that means so much:  “Hush, hush.”  Stillness and tranquility washes over me with a rush, the winds and waves whispering, “Hush. Hush”.
